The music of Búzás Band is based on a secret recipe. All I can tell of this secret that it boils down to processing Hungarian folk songs that are close to our hearts, which have delicate musical ideas that have been part of our heritage for more than three decades.
So far, we have staged Hungarian folk music and Latin separately, in their own pure forms. Now, however, as part of an experiment, we let them flow together allowing for us to have the bittersweet melodies of Kalotaszeg pour into the world of bossa nova. We like to use hard contrasts, which evokes and conjures up high-temperature Balkan rhythms as well. With the help of my excellent fellow musicians, we have created a special medley of music that rests on folk music but leans towards jazz. ” (Csaba Búzás)
